Three law firms practise in Moberly, all of them in the few blocks around the Randolph County courthouse. None of them is a public defender. If you have been charged with a crime and cannot afford a lawyer, the Missouri State Public Defender’s office for this circuit handles that, and you apply through the court, not through a firm.

If you cannot afford a lawyer
The Missouri State Public Defender represents people charged with crimes who cannot afford counsel. You apply through the court handling your case. Legal Services of Southern Missouri and Mid-Missouri Legal Services handle civil matters — evictions, benefits, family law — for people who qualify on income.
This is a list of who practises here, not a recommendation, and nothing on this page is legal advice.
