What it costs to rent a shelter, field or facility from Moberly Parks in 2026

Shelters, pavilions, ball fields, the auditorium, the Lodge, the equestrian arena and the whole of Depot Park are all rentable from the city. Here are the 2026 rates, straight off the city’s fee sheets.

Reserve at the Parks & Recreation office, 200 N. Clark Street, 660-269-8705 ext. 2040, or online through the city’s booking catalog.

Two things to know before you read the numbers. The non-profit rate requires a registered non-profit entity — a club without paperwork pays the regular rate. And deposits can be raised and insurance required for large or higher-risk events; a deposit comes back only if there is no damage.

Indoor facilities

The auditorium, the Lodge and the James Youth Center must be booked in consecutive hours with a four-hour minimum.

Municipal Auditorium — $70/hr, non-profit $52.50/hr, $200 deposit
Rothwell Park Lodge — $45/hr, non-profit $33.75/hr, $200 deposit
James Youth Center — $30/hr, non-profit $22.50/hr, $200 deposit

Outdoor facilities

Lion’s Beuth Park, entire park — $500, non-profit $375, $200 deposit
Depot Park, entire park — $300, non-profit $225, $200 deposit
Equestrian Arena — $200, non-profit $150, $50 deposit
Riley Pavilion — $200, non-profit $150, $100 deposit — may only be rented together with the Lodge
Solar Pavilion — $150, non-profit $112.50, $100 deposit
Legacy Overlook — $100, non-profit $75, $100 deposit
Amphitheater — $45/hr, non-profit $33.75/hr, $200 deposit
The Fennel (outdoor portion only) — $65/hr, $200 deposit
Tannehill Gazebo — $20/hr, non-profit $15/hr

Shelters — all $50, non-profit $37.50, $25 deposit: Depot Park Shelter, Fox Park Shelter, Kiwanis Park Shelter, Klein Shelter House, Lake Pavilion, Shelter #1, Shelter #3, Shelter #5 (the Lion’s Shelter).

A $50 shelter with a $25 deposit is the cheapest way to hold a family reunion or a birthday party in this town. They book out early for summer weekends.

Ball fields

A $100 deposit applies to paid field rentals.

Read this before you pay for anything: all fields except Green 3, 4 and 5 and Red 1 and 2, and all courts, are free of charge for practice. Only two practices can be scheduled at the same time. If you just need somewhere for your team to practice, you do not need to rent a field.

Rothwell Park fields

Groeber Field (baseball) — $100, non-profit $75
Meinert Field (baseball/softball) — $100, non-profit $75
Patrick Field (softball) — $100, non-profit $75

Howard Hils Athletic Complex

Blue 1, 2, 3 (soccer/football/T-ball) — $125, non-profit $93.75

Green 5 (baseball) — $150, non-profit $112.50
Green 6 (T-ball) — $150, non-profit $112.50
Red 1 (baseball, grass infield) — $200, non-profit $150
Red 2 (baseball) — $150, non-profit $112.50

Fox Park Field (softball/T-ball) — $50, non-profit $37.50
Tennis courts — $10/hr
Pickleball courts — $10/hr
Lights — $20
Additional field prep, football or soccer — $50
Additional field prep, baseball or softball — $50

Camping, lake and range fees

Thompson Campground RV site — $35/night, $200/week, $700/month
Electric-only overflow — $25/night
Group tent camping — $150/night, or $50/night for youth organizations such as Scouts and 4-H
Group camp fire pit when the group camp is unused — $25
Overnight fishing pass — $25 per person per year
Canoe or small boat storage — $50 per calendar year
Paddleboats — $15/hour
Archery range — donations

Aquatic Center

Daily admission $6, every age, under one free.
Private pool party — $300/hour plus a $200 cleaning deposit, due at booking. Everyone attending counts whether they swim or not.
West sunshade — $20/hour during open swim, and everyone still pays admission.

Season and punch pass prices are published only in the city’s printed activity guide. Call ext. 2040.

Discount attraction tickets

A genuinely underused thing: the Parks office sells discounted tickets to regional attractions, well under gate price. All sales final, no refunds. The published prices are from the 2025 sheet, so confirm before you drive over.

Silver Dollar City (reservations required) — adult one-day $84.50 against a $99.80 gate; child 4 to 11 one-day $76.50 against $88.95; adult two-day $104 against $121.49; child two-day $95.50 against $110.64.
Raging Rivers — $29 against a $43.99 gate.
SuperSplash USA (formerly Big Surf) — day passport, ages 4 and up, $33.

That is about $15 a head saved on Silver Dollar City and $15 on Raging Rivers, for a family of four that is real money.

Booking an event, not just a shelter

A 5K in Rothwell Park — contact Parks & Rec at least 60 days ahead. A race with a history of 100 or more participants may apply to use park streets; anything newer or smaller stays on trails inside Rothwell and the Athletic Complex. Street races outside the park need City Council approval. Temporary paint only, 30-day life.

A carnival, fair or circus — detailed proposal to the Director at least 60 days out, then Park Board approval. Selling tickets before approval is an automatic denial.

Serving or selling alcohol at Rothwell — a picnic permit for beer-garden style events, a catering permit for events inside a facility. Public drinking without a permit is unlawful in the parks.

Commercial vending — requires a revenue share or a negotiated flat fee.

Rates are from the City of Moberly’s 2026 Facility Fees and 2026 Field Fees sheets, which state that fees are subject to change. Confirm at 660-269-8705 ext. 2040 before you budget.
