Who represents Randolph County in Jefferson City and Washington, where their offices are, and how to find the state office you actually need.
One thing to know up front: Randolph County is split between two Missouri House districts. Look up your own address at house.mo.gov rather than assuming.
Missouri House — District 6
Rep. Ed Lewis (R), of Moberly
201 West Capitol Avenue, Room 312, Jefferson City · 573-751-6566
Ed.Lewis@house.mo.gov · assistant Dylan Robinson
Office hours Tuesday and Wednesday 7 to 2, Thursday 7 to 5
District 6 is Randolph and Macon counties. Lewis was elected in 2020.
He chairs Elementary and Secondary Education, and is vice-chairman of the education appropriations subcommittee. He also sits on Budget, the Joint Committee on Education, and Utilities.
Before the legislature he taught chemistry and physics in Missouri high schools for 32 years, including in Moberly, and worked at Central Christian College of the Bible for 30. Bachelor’s from Mizzou, master’s in chemistry from Pittsburg State.
Missouri House — District 48

Tim.Taylor@house.mo.gov · assistant June Cardwell
Office hours Tuesday to Thursday 7 to 5
District 48 covers Chariton, Cooper, Howard and part of Randolph.
Worth knowing if your property tax bill annoys you: Taylor chairs the Special Committee on Property Tax Reform and its interim committee. He is also vice-chairman of Rules–Administrative and sits on Budget, Conservation and Natural Resources, and Crime and Public Safety.
He is a retired Columbia firefighter, entered the Air Force in 1987, and has been a firearms and archery instructor for 4-H.
Missouri Senate — District 18
Sen. Cindy O’Laughlin (R), of Shelbina
Room 326, 201 W. Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City · 573-751-7985
senate.mo.gov/mem18
She is President Pro Tem of the Missouri Senate — the chamber’s top job. She was elected Majority Floor Leader in 2022, the first woman to hold that position in state history.
District 18 takes in 14 counties: Adair, Audrain, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Putnam, Ralls, Randolph, Schuyler, Scotland and Shelby.
Unlike the House, all of Randolph County sits in one Senate district. If you are not sure which representative is yours, the senator is simpler.
Congress — and this one is genuinely unsettled
Randolph County’s congressional district is in dispute right now, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Under the map in use since 2022, Randolph County is in the 6th District, represented by Sam Graves (R) — his own office lists Randolph among the district’s 39 counties and names Moberly as one of its population centres.
A new map was signed in September 2025. It is now the subject of both a statewide referendum — Proposition A, on the November 3, 2026 ballot — and federal litigation that reached the U.S. Supreme Court in late September 2026. State and federal courts have issued conflicting orders, and ballots went out with the question unresolved.
On Proposition A: a YES vote upholds the new map. A NO vote repeals it and keeps the previous districts.
Before you rely on a district number, check your own address with the Missouri Secretary of State, or look at the sample ballot from County Clerk Terri Maddox, 844-277-6555 ext. 320.
Rep. Sam Graves, MO-6
Nearest district office: Hannibal — 6079 County Road 425, Hannibal · 573-221-3400 · by appointment
Washington: 1135 Longworth House Office Building · 202-225-7041
The district covers all or part of 39 counties across north Missouri, from the Missouri River to the Mississippi — more square miles than nine U.S. states.
A concrete local result: Graves secured appropriation funding for Moberly’s new Fire Station #2.
U.S. Senators
Sen. Josh Hawley (R) — Columbia office: 1123 Wilkes Blvd, Suite 220 · 573-554-1919. Washington: 381 Russell Senate Office Building · 202-224-6154.
Sen. Eric Schmitt (R) — Columbia office: 1123 Wilkes Blvd, Suite 320 · 573-514-8680. Washington: 404 Russell Senate Office Building · 202-224-5721.
Both Columbia offices are in the same building, about 35 miles from Moberly. If you need casework help — a VA claim stuck, a passport, a federal agency not responding — that is one trip for both.
Statewide officeholders
Governor Mike Kehoe, sworn in as Missouri’s 58th governor on January 13, 2025 — P.O. Box 720, Jefferson City · 573-751-3222
Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger
Secretary of State Denny Hoskins
Attorney General Catherine Hanaway
Treasurer Vivek Malek
Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick
