Moberly utilities: who bills you for what, and who to call when it breaks

Moberly splits its utilities in a way that catches new residents out. Water, sewer and trash are billed by the city. Electric and gas are Ameren. Trash collection itself is contracted to WM.

City water, sewer and trash billing

Water Billing & Collections, 101 West Reed Street · 660-263-4420
Lobby open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pay by card over the phone: 660-269-7620. Online through Xpress Bill Pay.

Card payments carry a 3.5 percent fee, minimum $3. Bank draft is free. Paper bills cost $2 a month.

The billing cycle matters. Bills run the 27th to the 26th and are due the 17th. A 20 percent penalty hits on the 18th. Door tags go out the week after the 23rd, and shutoffs follow the week after that.

Beyond fiber: DSL through EarthLink, fixed wireless from UScellular, XNET and Air Link, 5G home internet from AT&T and T-Mobile, and satellite everywhere.
