A study session is a working meeting. The council takes up a subject in more depth than a regular agenda allows — a budget, a rate structure, a long-range plan, a proposed ordinance — usually without voting on anything at the end.
That makes them worth watching. A decision that shows up on a regular agenda as a single line item has often already been argued out in a study session, in more detail and more plainly.
Study sessions are open to the public like any other council meeting. Video appears in this folder as the city publishes it, which is why the folder is sometimes empty for stretches — they are called as needed, not on a fixed monthly schedule.
Notices and agendas go to the city’s Agenda Center alongside regular meetings. For the schedule, the City Clerk’s office is 660-269-8705 ext. 2052, or 660-269-7652.
Regular meeting video is in Council Meetings. Agendas and minutes are in Council Meeting Agendas and Reports.
